Extendance - History & People

Our History

Extendance was started in 2001 to offer a service that few companies realized they needed at that time - expert support and load-sharing for marketing and sales departments. Extendance's founders saw the need for such a service because they had extensive international working experience in high-tech companies. This expertise included working for major industry players in engineering, product management, product marketing, sales and business development jobs in many of the fastest-moving areas in the global high-tech economy, namely the US (Silicon Valley) and Asia (Hong Kong, PR China and Japan).

Since then, we have helped many companies establish themselves in new international markets. The experience has made us fine-tune our skills and working methods so we deliver high-quality results in a short time. It has also given us insights into a wide range of high-tech companies, primarily in the ICT sector. We have learnt that our work is just as effective for established, large companies, as for emerging ones.

Our People

Our people all come from a technology background, in computer science, electrical engineering or other engineering or science disciplines, and all have moved at some stage of their career into pure sales and marketing. We require them to embody our key values, efficiency, vision and innovation, so they are receptive to new ideas and processes and quick to adapt when market conditions require it. Extendance also puts a lot of effort into developing their skills, so that our people don't just produce PowerPoint strategy slides, but support companies in implementing the strategies themselves. We are co-workers, not consultants. We offer hands-on assistance - something that suits not only us, but our clients, much better.

We focus our support work on two main types of companies: Established international high-tech companies and carefully selected, dynamic startup companies ready for international expansion. As a result of wide experience gained in companies such as IBM , Bay Networks, Nortel, Yago (Riverstone Networks), BMG/AOL, Compunet, EDS, our people know the markets and the technologies in detail. That means they work efficiently - translating into fast sales and marketing results for our clients.

This level of experience provides also the necessary foundation for first-class strategy development services, allowing us to be an effective sparring partner for our clients. When clients are looking to expand an existing execution plan, or need input and support with execution for a new strategy, we are able to give both an expert outside opinion and detailed execution support.
